Girls Giving Grants (g3) is the youth initiative of Impact Austin, a giving circle for girls in grades 8-12, founded in 2006. Members of g3 pool $125 donations each year to collectively fund one grant announced in April. Each fall, training activities prepare them for the grant review process. Reviews begin in November. Here is a recap of their activities to date.
Our last blog post about Girls Giving Grants reported on their fall activities. They trained in team-building and application review, ethics, and community needs. In October they were surprised with a special honor: a Lighthouse Award from Recognize Good. In November, g3 began grant review in earnest.
On January 11, Girls Giving Grants named their six semifinalists, and these applicants will now undergo deep-dive review by g3's six Application Review Committees (ARCs). Congratulations to the semifinalists!

ARCs will make their semifinalist presentations at g3's February 8 meeting. Online voting by the g3 membership will follow, and two finalists will be named on February 13. From there, g3 will prepare for April 11 site visits!

The g3 giving circle has awarded a remarkable $130,600 through 21 grants to 19 nonprofits, making a tangible difference in the lives of countless youth in Greater Austin. Their 2026 grant will take their total grantmaking to $138,600!
