We work to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across our membership, leadership, community engagement, and in our grantmaking practices. Committee members have the opportunity to help shape meaningful initiatives and events, bring new perspectives to our work, and build a more inclusive culture within Impact Austin and the broader community. The Finance Committee is responsible for the financial stewardship of member contributions. This committee develops and oversees investment strategies, financial policies, and controls to comply with legal and tax requirements. Open opportunities on this committee include:Finance Committee Co-Chair - Impact Austin is looking for a friendly, engaged volunteer to serve as Finance Committee Co-Chair. In this role, you'll partner with the Treasurer to help guide the Finance Committee, supporting things like financial reporting, budget planning, and our annual audit and 990 process. It's a nice fit for someone who's comfortable with numbers, enjoys working as part of a team, and might be interested in growing into a future leadership role down the road. The committee meets monthly online, so it's a manageable time commitment that fits around a busy schedule. Girls Giving Grants (g3) offers an amazing opportunity for volunteers to mentor the next generation of philanthropists. As an advisor you will provide guidance and leadership for young women (girls from 8th through 12th grade) as they learn the process of reviewing grants and ultimately selecting an organization to award their funds. This is a rewarding way to engage in Impact Austin and mentor young women.

The Grants Committee stewards member contributions throughout the Impact Austin grantmaking process. Members join Grant Review Committees (GRCs) to learn about community needs, evaluate applications from nonprofits, and recommend finalists for the full membership vote at the Annual Meeting in the spring.   Grants Committee members volunteer in leadership roles to support nonprofit applicants and grant recipients, engage with GRC members, and innovate and refine our grantmaking processes and systems. Joining the Grants Committee in any capacity is a wonderful way to better understand Impact Austin's impact on our community in an up-close and personal way! The Grants Technology Support Committee is part of the high-profile Grants Committee and a critical part of that operation! As part of this committee, you help maintain the Grant Management System, WizeHive’s Zengine. The Grant Management System is key to ensuring our community nonprofit grants are managed professionally from the initial registration of a profile through grant award and subsequent reporting.   You can also use your tech talents to support other tools and identify new ones to help our Grant process.

Inspire, educate, and inform others by volunteering with Impact Austin's Marketing Committee! We broadcast Impact Austin’s philanthropic mission and community impact to our members, the nonprofit sector, and the community at large. We do this by promoting Signature Events, grant opportunities, learning initiatives, Community Partners, and our fabulous members.  Volunteers share their time and talents (and may even develop new skills) in a friendly and collaborative environment. We meet 8-10 times per year, and each volunteer oversees or collaborates on one or more projects. The Member Connections Committee is where you can help create experiences to bring Impact Austin members together. This team creates opportunities for members to build relationships, find their people, and feel a genuine sense of belonging. From social gatherings and volunteer outings, to facilitating other ways to connect throughout the year, these experiences help make Impact Austin feel like a community, not just an organization. This critical component of the Membership Committee is always looking for new volunteers to bring fresh ideas for gathering.The Member Connections team also plans events to help Impact Austin members connect to our mission by volunteering alongside our community partners and past grantees. Our members are at the heart of Impact Austin and they make our collective impact possible. Membership fuels our grantmaking, brings our community together through events, and creates opportunities for learning and connection. This committee makes sure that we keep growing by bringing in new members, helping them get settled, and ensuring the members we have feel appreciated and connected to our mission. Recruitment: This team gets the word out through community events, info sessions, and personal conversations, helping women who are interested in Impact Austin take the next step toward membership.New Members: Once someone joins, this team makes sure she feels welcomed and knows how to get involved from day one through onboarding touchpoints, especially new-member events, and check-ins throughout their first year.Renewals: Keeping members engaged is just as important as bringing them in. This team stewards relationships throughout the year and guides members through the renewal process, helping them stay connected to Impact Austin and the community they've found here. Connections: Creating experiences for members to gather and connect is critical to building belonging.
