Girls Giving Grants Announces Finalists for 2021 Grant

On February 7, the 76 members of Girls Giving Grants(g3) selected two finalists for their 2021 grant award of $7,600. They are:

Center for Survivors of Torture - Digital Equity for Children

Florence Comfort House - Onward and Upward

The 2020-2021 g3 class began meeting in August, first with the leadership team, then welcoming new members in October. Training for g3 members included community needs and teambuilding; grant application review and financial evaluation; and public speaking/presentation skills. Semi-finalists were announced in January. Site visits with the finalists are scheduled for April 3. The g3 final vote for their single grant will be April 18. Girls Giving Grants is Impact Austin’s youth initiative, founded in 2006. Members of g3 are girls in grades 8-12 who have an interest in making a difference and learning about the community and philanthropy. They come from all over Central Texas and meet every other week from fall to spring to award one collective grant to a youth-serving nonprofit. Since 2006, their #collectivegiving has generated more than $90,000 in grants.
