SIG Grant Review Committee Registration Open Through August 14

Impact Austin members, register here to be part of the SIG Grant Review Committee (GRC). Registration is open through August 14. If you were unable to be part of spring review process, the SIG committee provides members a second opportunity to get involved in grantmaking at a different time of year. SIG meetings take place in September and October. The process culminates with the membership finalist vote and the Social Innovation Grant award at the Town Hall in November. Don't miss your chance to be an active participant in the selection process for this grant. Due to risks associated with COVID-19, all SIG meetings and the Town Hall gathering will be virtual.

This year’s Social Innovation Grant will fund a collaborative (two or more entities) working together on a high-impact project or initiative aimed at advancing equity for women and/or girls of color. This 2020 award will be a one year grant in the amount of $40,000.

What Is the SIG GRC?

  • It reviews and evaluates SIG applications using a rigorous process

  • It selects grant finalists on which the Impact Austin membership at large will vote to determine the grant awardee

  • It is led by experienced members in co-chair and advisor roles

  • Its participation is open to all members

  • It will involve three virtual committee meetings, online training and reading/analyzing applications, individual online research, and 3-5 virtual Pitch Presentations (these all occur on the same day and are similar to Site Visits on other GRCs)

  • Total time commitment ranges from 16-24 hours, early Sep to mid-Oct 2020

Why join the SIG GRC?

  • Participate in the grant giving process

  • Learn about the nonprofits working to advance equity of woman and/or children of color in the greater Austin community

  • Build lasting friendships with a diverse group of women

  • Volunteer in a meaningful way and make a lasting contribution. 2019 Committee member Kali' Rourke wrote, The Social Innovation Grant Committee was a tangible way in which I could both learn and actively affect equity and diversity in the Central Texas area. Our grant winners of 2019 will be improving the lives of young Black girls for decades to come, and I am proud to be part of the women who made that happen. Just wait and see what we do next!
