This statement was approved on June 4, 2025, by Impact Austin's Board of Directors and DEIB Committee:
At Impact Austin, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) as core to who we are and all that we do. These principles are not aspirational—they are essential to how we live our mission and engage with the Central Texas community.
We recognize that we are living in complex and challenging times, when DEIB values are being questioned, and communities are calling for greater accountability, transparency, and justice. In this moment, we remain grounded in our belief that centering equity and belonging strengthens not only our organization, but also the impact we create through our collective philanthropy. We also acknowledge that many organizations are facing difficult constraints due to state and federal requirements. While Impact Austin is fortunate to operate independently of such restrictions, we respect the realities these nonprofits must navigate. They remain eligible for our grants, and we stand in solidarity with them—committed to supporting their vital work and shared pursuit of equity.
We are listening to our community. We hear the voices of our members, nonprofit partners, and neighbors. Their insights and lived experiences continue to guide our evolution. This Board is committed to ensuring that our actions reflect the values we hold dear—and that we move forward in partnership with the people and communities we aim to serve.
We proudly reaffirm the language adopted in our DEIB Resource Guide (Board-approved October 2022), which states:
"Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) are at the core of what we do at Impact Austin. We strongly believe in the fundamental principles of DEIB and aim to embrace these concepts in all aspects of the work we perform to achieve the strategic goals of Impact Austin. We will embrace these DEIB concepts in our interactions with our membership, our community partners, the nonprofit organizations we serve, as well as any other community members we interact with to achieve our mission."
This commitment inspires us to show up with integrity and to continue learning, growing, and collaborating. We believe that through steadfast focus on equity and inclusion, we will deepen trust, widen participation, and amplify the collective impact of women’s philanthropy in Central Texas.
