Jolt Initiative (“Jolt”) was founded in 2016 to uplift the power of young Latino voters by bridging traditional voter registration and engagement work with Latino culture and art. Jolt targets young Latinos, but welcomes all races, with 26 college chapters and three high school clubs in the state.
The grant is unrestricted and awarded in support of the mission and programs of Jolt Initiative.
Jolt Initiative credits the unrestricted Impact Austin grant with helping to expand their efforts and advocacy statewide. They reached 500 young women with two programs:
Arriba Las Mujeres leadership program for young professional women in Austin, DFW, Houston and San Antonio
Poder Quince, creating awareness of civic engagement within the quinceañera tradition.
