Building Seedling’s Brand and Business Case

Description:   

Seedling Foundation supports children challenged by parental incarceration through innovative, research driven, school­-based mentoring. Each year, the program helps more than 600 students in over 100 schools. 


The Catalyst Grant will sustain and grow this program by increasing awareness of this vulnerable population through enhanced marketing efforts to recruit mentors and engaging new school districts as potential partners.

Grant Status:   

Because of Impact Austin's Catalyst Grant, Seedling Foundation was able to develop a business model with diversified funding strategies including:

  • a presentation with case statements to approach more school districts; 

  • a cost per unit of service to use for funding solicitations;

  • a changed approach to matching at schools;

  • third-party event gaming fundraiser; and 

  • an entrepreneurial project to develop a mentoring product to sell to others

Because of Impact Austin's Catalyst Grant, Seedling Foundation was able to develop a business model with diversified funding strategies including:lateral, videos, and a communications plan.G
