Black Mamas Village ATX 2025 Primary Community Grant
Description:
The mission of Black Mamas Village ATX is to foster a culture of connection that promotes holistic health and wellness, strengthens support systems, and cultivates thriving communities for all Black mothers. Founded in June 2019, they have grown from a small Facebook group into a vibrant village of over 3,000 Black mothers. Their pillars include connection and belonging; economic empowerment; and health and wellness.
The Impact Austin grant is unrestricted and awarded with a trust-based approach. Black Mamas Village ATX projects that the grant will help with key initiatives:
Emergency housing assistance – rental assistance and housing navigation services
Mental health support services – expanding access to free therapy
Childcare access – bridging the gap and expanding drop-in childcare access through the RISE partnership
Community-based programs and cultural events
