Introducing Our New Members

Impact Austin attracts members from many backgrounds and careers! One thing they all have in common is a commitment to the mission of collective giving. We asked these new members three basic questions – “How did you find out about Impact Austin and what inspired you to join, What is your short and sweet biography, and optionally, What do you think might surprise or interest your new friends about you?” Here are their answers!

Meet Tiffiny Britton, and say, “Hi!” the next time you see her.

“I discovered Impact Austin at one of the coffees the organization had this past fall at Connee Sullivan’s house. I joined to learn more about Austin non-profits and fulfilling the needs of the community.”

“My husband and I have our own government affairs firm here in Austin and keep busy with our 12-year-old daughter, Shelby. I always like to try something new and meet new people.”

“I’m an Aggie who actually grew up in Austin. I just started taking violin lessons at the beginning of this year.”

Meet Kim Davis and say hello the next time you see her!

“I learned about Impact Austin through a friend and member, Angela D’Andrea. Angela had told me on numerous occasions how much she was enjoying her experiences with this group. Angela brought me to one of the coffee conversations and I was hooked by the way we could give and be able to have input on where our dollars went.”

“I am an HR Leader and creator of positive cultures and experiences for the employees my company supports. We do a lot of work in the communities where we live, and this felt like a group I could learn from and give to.”

“I have lived in 10 cities in the last 20 years and had never been to Austin when the company I founded was bought and the office location was to be in Austin. I fell in love the first time my husband and I visited and have found this to be one of our favorite locations to live so far!”

Meet Julie Skymba and say “Hi!” the next time you see her.

“I learned about Impact Austin through Heather Toolin. She was continually sharing information about IA events and the various non-profits IA has helped. Just as frequently, Heather spoke about the amazing women in the group!”

"I have studied fashion design, interior design, and art - so my career has flowed from one of these disciplines to another, often overlapping. I am in the beginning phases of launching a fashion and wardrobe consulting business named "Moxie Image Consulting.”

"A quriky fact about me: (must preface this by saying I am NOT snobby!) It is hard for me to be in ugly places... ie, buildings, restaurants, bathrooms, etc., as I am constantly assaulted through my eyes! Once a situation arose that I could not leave a particularly horrible retail store and I started becoming nauseous! I know this is very strange and my guess is it is because I was born an extremely visual person having a love affair with beauty? Lol, fact."
