Denise Shannon is an independent consultant to foundations and nonprofits. She has decades of experience working toward a more just and equitable world, with a special emphasis in the sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice field and more than 20 years working with foundation philanthropy. 

Before returning to her consulting practice, she led Funders for Reproductive Equity, a network of philanthropic foundations that support reproductive issues, for 15 years. She has served on several nonprofit boards of directors. An accomplished communicator, Denise's writing has appeared in numerous publications, including the New York Times, Inside Philanthropy, and Alliance, the magazine for philanthropy and social investment worldwide.
